Flabbergasted

Something happened to me last night that in the 9 years I have been a parent I swear has never happened ever before.
Went took the boys to Applebees, they love Applebees and I'll admit Joseph had a busy day and was tired and very hungry. We sat down and ordered and we didn't get any appetizer to he was just crazy hungry. He wasn't screaming by any means but he was complaining a little. These two women behind us first they "shhesed" him then they asked to be moved!!
Give me a break. I guess they were never children. It's Applebees not some fancy place. As soon as Joseph's food arrived he was totally fine.
He wasn't throwing anything, he wasn't even crying.
I guess they are total saints and never get grumpy or complain... as long as they get what they want... like to the option to move to another table.

Why does it bother you that they moved? You were not asked to move. Not every adult appreciates children and maybe they were on a night out away from thier own kids and thought they would enjoy their dinner more at another table. I can not think of any win/win solution than what they did.

Regardless of the circumstance, any stranger that shushes your kid, makes you wanna smack em. What your feeling is normal Tam. :)

People were complaining of a noisy kid in Applebees?!?! How the hell did they hear him over ALL OF THE NOISE?!?!?!

When they got up you should have said "thanks for moving because we don't like smelly old people and this way we'll all be happy."

Buh-Bye!

Personally I'm very tired of this anonymous person. Get over yourself.

It's quite old.

I was in Applebees yesterday with 5 other "enthusiastic" women plus my baby. In the hour we were there, we cleared out the entire area we were in. And to be honest, I didn't notice it until the waiter said something about it, and he thought it was funny! Applebees is a "FAMILY" restaurant which means your kids are more welcome there than say...Hungry Hunter (?). The way I see it, if they have kids menus, crayons, balloons and cups with lids, it's a kids place. Screw 'em!

Oh people, I didn't ever say what Tammy was feeling was wrong, I was just curious as to why it was a big deal. It happens all the time and why wouldn't a good Christian just take a moment to have empathy and try understanding? I never said it was not a place for kids I just asked the question, if it bothers you, "what solution would have been better?

Jenn/Rob, anonymous was choice, just as it was Tammy's choice to take her tired, crazy hungry child to the restaurant, just as it was the womens choice to move to another table.
Shushing the child was rude, no doubt, I can't believe it took nine years for this 'first' experience.

This has become quite the topic. All I'm saying Dear Anonymous Choice (and maybe I'll start calling you DAC) is that more often than not, you air on the side of negative on Tammy's site. Wonder why? What draws you here if you are by all appearances so irritated by her? Now I know, you never said you were irritated by her and likely you will remind me of that like any good Christian would....but actions (or words in this case) speak louder than anything and time and again you seem to be in for lack of a better way to explain it, attack mode or adversarial.
What we think, you and I, and the others who comment here on her site, or any site, really doesn't matter. In a sense it does because we post our subjects to hear what others have to say, to get input or hear opinions. That's a given. But when your comments consistently tend to be negative or questioning in nature, it does get old DAC. But hey, that's just me, a Christian person, speaking her mind.

(sigh)

The world is just full of choices. It's what makes it go round and round...
