KIDS!

Can you tell me why every kid in the neighborhood wants to play at our house every day? I had six kids at my house on Sunday for about 5 hours. Monday after school they all ran right over.
We dont have half the gadgets the other kids do, our house is the smallest of any of them, we are the only ones without a pool yet they want to run in ours sprinklers. I just dont get it.
But they sword fight and make up plays with costumes (old Halloween costumes and sheets) and dance in front of the mirrored closets. I make popcorn and juice. I just don't get it. And frankly I wish a parent would say "thanks" or "let them play at my house" because while I see those parents doing yard work, or holed up in the house I am entertaining 4 more kids then I should be. Joseph loves it and it wears him out keeping up with all the kids. He plays with kids half his age and keeps up just fine.
Last night it was water gun fights and when Joseph feel down he got up all scrapped and bruised and kept going when the 8 year old and the 6 year old (from across the street) got soaked they started bawling. Joseph sort of looks at them with this look on his face that says "sissies get up and fight" he's a bruiser.
I guess this is what summer will be, all the kids at my house. I hope they have good happy memories of being at our house and maybe some day Dominic and I will live in a peaceful, clean, quiet home... and miss all this noise.

You know you will miss it!

All the kids want to be at your house because they can tell you have time for them, they feel important and have fun there. This is why. It's a good thing (at least for them).
