The Skinny on the Pox

So here's the deal for those of you with kids.
They more than likely got the vaccine at age one. But now they are finding kids are getting them at about 8 or 9. So just last month they began recommending that kids get a booster at 5 or 6. So chances are you you child did not get a booster and may get them this winter. They are going around.
You can get them from a sneeze just a few feet away. Your kid doenst have to be really even that near a kid who is coming down with them.
It all begins with a small bump and maybe a feverish feeling. Then the real fun begins. For the first 3-4 days you have one grumpy kid. Your doctor can prescirbe some meds that will help.

The worse part for Derek are the ones he has in his mouth and on the back of his throat. It makes swallowing difficult. The few he has in his groin area are pertty uncomfortable too.
He'll be home from school for 10 days. We asked what Joseph's chances or getting them and he laughed at us. I am telling you if you arent having as much fun as we are you checked the wrong box!

I guess you could be glad he's getting them now. I keep hearing stories about people that didn't get them when they were younger, and it was 10 times worse when they finally did get them.
