Priceless

Today Joseph took a field trip to the bowling alley. 75 preschoolers bowling. 10 frames. Every kid.
All the while I am back and forth on my cell phone with Dominic, my dad, and the mechanic about our other car. When it was all said and done the mechanic said "Your car is ready that will be $299.84." GULP. It took less than 2 and half hours.
Hot tears filled the back of my eyes. We are going away this weekend for a long overdue getaway with the boys. Just to Reno. Just for one night. Play in the snow, stay in a hotel room. It's going to be a much tighter trip now than it was going to be before today and it was going to be pretty tight.
I hung up my phone, took a deep breath and said it's just the way it goes sometimes, the car "needed" it far more than I needed a get away weekend. Far more than I needed new shoes.
I looked over to see Joseph take that big heavy bowling bowl in the 9th frame and just kick it. Yeah it felt like that kind of day, that was priceless.
