6:52 you wake and up and realize you missed the alarm. It goes off at 6 am. You have spent the night in your sons room AGAIN after an hour of arguing he wore me down and I finally climbed into his bed at 12:30am to get some sleep. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD I NEED SOME SLEEP.
I went back to my own bed at 5:30am with my mind racing and I guess I went into a deep sleep. So 6:52 I wake Dom and we rush about. Coffee and works cited page, homework and here comes Derek. That is a one hour and 20 minute break from that boy. sigh.
7:45 wake up Joseph, hop in shower. Dress and out the door. Get into car at 8:22 and it.wont.start. It.wont.start. It.wont.start. The car won't start.
what to do? what to do?
Dad has stuff on his plate.
Dom is in class.
Call clinic and tell them we won't make therapy today.
Take a walk and figure out what to do. All the while Derek is asking if this means we have to cancel Joseph's party and take back his gifts to pay for the car repairs and he sort of sounded like he felt bad about that. He's asking what's wrong with it? I have no idea and I can't think.
Come home and it still won't start.
So I called our friend John. He answered thank god. I really just wanted to hear what he thought might be the issue and see if he could jump me. He gladly came over (and he brought wine which I am drinking now, gee what a guy) and after a very comical start and two very big boxes of tools the car is jumped and started. We head to my uncles auto store to put it on the machine and see what the heck is up. The battery on my 2 year old car is dead. Dead. Dead. Dead.
sigh.
Nissan says it's under a pro-rated warranty. They will cover 3/4's of the cost of the replacement. I am in my uncles stores parking lot. I have my uncle ring me up for a new battery. (Thanks Dad) and John offers to put it in for me. Mind you while all of this is happening my boys are in the backseat and are not saying a word, not making a peep. Being so so good it was already really hot and they hadn't had anything to eat yet. (Thanks Uncle Tom for the cool drinks they were a God send)
sigh.
John puts the new battery in (on like the hottest day ever!) and he is dripping with sweat, and he cut his finger and I feel awful but I am grateful beyond words.
I don't usually have wine or liquor when I am home with the boys alone at night but after this past day... week.. month?... I am overdue and I am having a glass.
I keep trying to see the reason this happened today with all that I have going on. I guess it's just one of those things.
I learned that maybe backing your car into the garage is a pretty good idea so when you have to jump it, it's a bit easier.
I learned that jumper cables are necessity and maybe a battery charger would be a good thing too.
I am so ready for bed right now but no, I am off to fight the wasps we have on the front porch and watch Joseph's Spongebob movie he thinks it would be a nice treat. Yes I agree more Spongebob. It's better with the wine I now have.

Tamika Tamale. Geesh. What in the world? I agree. Wine would be a good addition to SpongeBob. So agree on that. John saved your bummy! Awesome for that. He was the silver lining in your day!
These are just the things that make up the crazy days that you'll look back on; simply add one part humor, two parts sarcasim, shake, stir and drink. Done. It's life baby. It's the ups and downs and all the in betweens we call life.
You made it! Love you!
