I have been a fan of horse racing for a long time. My folks took me to the track when I was little many times. We always watch the Triple Crown races.
Saturdays race saw the race favorite Barbaro, suffer a terrible rear leg fracture. Such a sad sight to behold. More than anything this was more than a race horse, it was very loved, cared for animal.
After 5 hours of surgery no one can say what the future holds for Barbaro. I hope days of green pastures at a nice stud farm somewhere.
