If my husband doesnt STOP making the decaf coffee in the morning I might have to just kill him.I think the "toddler" or "preschool" years or whatever years we are in right now are harder than the infant months.
I am so tired and he's in motion all the time which is a blessing for sure, but even for nap time, which hardly happens lets be clear, he has to move and wiggle about till the very last moment. GOING GOING GOING. Soccer. Hockey. Climbing. Running. GO GO GO GO. Mommy going to bed just before 1 am. No coffee (whatever hubby made this morning it was NOT coffee). It's just after 10 am and I have read fire truck book twice. He would love to sit and have me read to him all day long, which love I do but oy, when you're sleepy already sitting and reading ....goodness.
Joseph is good at pushing his brothers buttons. As soon as he knows he can get a rise out of him he just lays on the button and makes Derek crazy. Sadly Joseph gets this from my dad. He's a button pusher too.
So my button pusher, my grumpy older brother and the very tired momma. The heat is hitting it's just a bad mix.
Tomorrow will be better. .... remind me to tell you about the squid... but now I am off to read the book again.

Oh he is just so adorable full of joy and happiness. I love to see him looking so happy and with that touseled hair? Love it. LOVE IT.
What time do the boys go to bed? I have no idea your day to day schedule but can't you just institute an earlier perceived bed time so the process is started much earlier? Don't have to GIVE a reason, just because Mamma said so. Seriously, that's what happens around here. Then go fall straight in bed; screw the dishes, the clothes, whatever has to be done. Am I totally missing something? I probably am. I can be dense, no doubt.
Give it a whirl. Just once. :)
I wish for you a really good sound sleep to give you tons of needed energy. It's easier to see the rainbow when you have energy. Love you.

More advice on this note. You can slam me if you want but I mean nothing but good. :)
Here is what I do. And I know this will be hard for you especially at the beginning. But do it, just try it. Try to get through the first three nights of it and the rest will just kind of naturally fall into place.
At 730 pm (yes I'm not kidding) start talking about (just talking) ok in 30 minutes it's time for bath/showers so don't give me any lip when I say it's time for bath/showers (esp for Derek). When 800 comes, you then follow through, get them bathed/showered whatever. PJ's on. Do your reading them and let them know it's bedtime. They will whine and be appalled but you just do it. Dominic may even be like "what are you doing putting them to bed now?" (he might not) but you just try it.
I"m telling you, it works. I'm telling you, it does. They get excellent sleep and you do too. And to boot, a little time for yourself on occasion.
Let me know how it goes
and by the way did you ever spend that gift certificate to the spa? Don't tell me you didn't. Is it expired now? Do you know where it is? you better use it sista.
