This is my high school. Everyone in my family has attended this high school. My uncles and my mother even went to classes in this building.
Today it's coming down. I am more than a little sad to see it go.
Change. Progress.
A new building will come up and they tell me it will look similiar to this one. But it wont be the same. The walls will have a different voice.
I often say as corny as it sounds and people roll their eyes but my family like many in other families grew up on this campus, spouses went to this campus as well, our blood runs green and gold.
I will watch the change but it will never be the same for me.

Could not agree with you more. We have a picture of my grandmother in front of the building when she was a student at Tracy High. I always liked Jens solution, to remodel or whatever is needed, but keep the original structure.

Technically, we did not attend school in that building. In fact, my mother worked in there, and that was the first time I ever stepped foot in that building. So, yes, your parents and others...but us, we went to the boring reject area behind the cool historical looking place. We went to the school behind the lumber yard and sleazy motel.
I didn't know they were tearing it down. It was kinda gross the last time I went in there, but history is still cool.

My great-granfather hauled the lumber for that building in his horse and buggy.
Why why WHY did they have to tear it down?
