WOW. Just...WOW.

The newspaper said today that the average family would spend $1500 on Christmas this year.
WOW!
I just cant wrap my mind around that (no pun intended)
So I am asking you all do you think that's about average for you? More? Less? Come on give me the goods.
I can tell you last year including the tree we spent $500. on the nose.
This year we have $400 to spend on Christmas and not a penny more!

What do you plan to spend on Christmas? Do you keep track? Will you this year for me?
Come on no one is judging anyone here. Give me the goods.

Not that much. Maybe $1000-$1200. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that amount of $$ 'is not much money' it is. If you ask my husband, we spend waay too much. I know we do, but try as I/we might, to do better every year, it's always the same. But then, I love the giving part. So I suffer the consequences.

Egads...I'll spend $1500 easily and I don't even have KIDS!
It's too much, I know. I just can't help myself, I learned my Christmas spending habits from my mom who firmly beleives that more is more. :)

Maybe not quite $1500, but with everything included; decorations, kids, nieces/nephews, hubby, etc...it's not quite that. I really want to spoil Chris with a new wardrobe this year. He looks so great, he deserves it. I'll have to check the budget.
Jen, you are the greatest Aunt a kid could ask for. You do give great gifts!

We are giving Jakey the presents that we didn't give him from his birthday (there are many) and the 2 older ones get $100 in gifts each since they will be at Dad's house when Santa comes. I've got an idea for Moms & Dads ($100 total) and I've instructed hubby what I want $80, and I am making his (personalized fantasy football shirts with his logo on them-so only expense is shirt itself). Everybody else is poor so they told us they weren't getting us anything and not to get them anything (yeah), and I am making all of the neighbor/freind gifts, which I enjoy doing. So...we might get away with $400ish ballpark.
