Wednesday where you been?

Ok this week is just about over. If I stretch I can reach it. Phew.
All the boys are well. Now I have a cold. It's ok at least I am not taking care of them and being sick myself. I thought I was going to beat it off. Last Friday I felt bad but then I got better and then yesterday full blown cold hit me. Dang it.
It's just a cold nothing too bad I can deal with it.

So I am making a pie to take to my uncles for Thanksgiving. I have never in my whole life made a pie before. My mom the baker of the family (she really is a great baker) says I can do it it's easy. We'll see. Is anyone nervous?

When you're young and not married you just show up to these things. Then you get a boyfriend and it's cute and you still show up or bring an appetizer. Then you get married and well maybe bring the rolls or the dessert. Then you get close to 40 and a big person item is requested. I am fine with that. Dominic keeps saying we are going to have Easter at our house one of these years. I think he's so crazy. He wants our house to be the house everyone comes to when the boys are older. Silly silly man.

Oh and his first day at his new job went great. He seems to like it and is happy with the bit of a raise he's getting. He seems to like everyone and they dont even know he's related to my dad who use to work in the department many moons ago. They keep asking him "Hey you know this person. You know that person" how soon before they ask "Hey you know Cecil" not long. He's just going to spring it on them.

Ok Chirsty's here time for coffee.

The only thing I bring for Thanksgiving is a recipe a friend from work gave me. It's heavenly and now a tradition in the Fairbanks/Ferrante house. Pumpkin Dump Cake. If you'd like the recipe, just let me know. It's better than a pie...lots of real butter used, vanilla cake mix, pumpkin pie stuff...wonderful. And easy.

We have been hosting Adam's family Thanksgiving for the last few years. Can you say, "Hell on Earth"? So, we deep fry 2 turkeys, I make about 100 rolls, bake 3-4 pies, peel 2 10 lb. bag of potatoes and make mashed potatoes, and do gravy. And then about 40 people pour into my house. Fortunately, with that many people, nobody notices if I sneak off into my bedroom and watch TV. Every year when they start planning Thanksgiving at my house, my comment is always, "Do I have to be there?".
When did I become so Anti-social?
It's gotta be the age factor. That sucks.
