A New Year's Eve

A new year begins tomorrow. 2008.
I could sit and take a long look back at all the things that happened over the past year, new babies arrived in the world, engagements with weddings on the horizon, of course some wonderful people that we lost along the way. Illnesses, broken bones, new friends made, old friends coming back in our lives. It was a mixed bag of blessings for sure.

My mom says that you should have the following things as you go into the new year.
Food in your pantry. check.
Gas in your car. check.
Money in your wallet. well not exactly.
Love in you heart. check
Good health. check.
Ok so I am set. So supposedly you'll have all of these things through out the year.
Whatever you're doing on New Year's day will be what you do a lot of all year long. So don't pay bills. I say don't do any laundry. Maybe sleep that would be good. Cook up your black eye peas (a southern tradition) and make sure you have a New Year's
smoochie to give and to get as the clock strikes. (Even if you cheat like my folks do and ring it in at 9 pm and then go to bed silly old folks) The rest will take care of itself I promise you.
See you next year!
