National Stroke Awareness Month. Pass it on.

Join National Stroke Association in celebrating National Stroke Awareness Month this May.

It's a time to educate the public about important stroke information, like the importance of understanding stroke symptom recognition and response!

Want to help reduce the impact of stroke? First, remember that strokes strikes F.A.S.T. and you should, too. Next, spread awareness about how to recognize and respond to stroke symptoms by learning the Face, Arms, Speech test, otherwise known as F.A.S.T.

F = FACE

Ask the person to smile. Does one side of the face droop?

A = ARMS

Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?

S = SPEECH

Ask the person to repeat a simple phrase. Does the speech sound slurred or strange?

T = TIME

If you observe any of these signs, it’s time to call 9-1-1.
